About

We are a congregation that sees service to our immediate community and beyond as our way to fulfill Christ’s words “Feed my sheep”. Our Sunday morning services provide spiritual nourishment to members, friends, and visitors; so do our occasional special musical programs.

We support Camp Simpresca, local food banks and agencies assisting youth and families in transition and we provide regular worship opportunities and companionship in the local nursing home.

community-worship-serviceOur members in their personal lives are often in leadership positons in vital community organizations such as the Curling Club, the Station on the Green community centre, the Medical Centre, the Arts and Heritage Society, the Horticultural Society and the Union Cemetery.

The vibrant village of Creemore is noted for the natural beauty of its rivers and surrounding hills. Good food, good beer, and good wine are made right here. Skiing, hiking, golfing, fishing, boating, curling, hockey playing, singing, sewing , quilting , writing, reading or flying are never far away either and somebody at our church not only does them, but leads and encourages others in these activities.

Our congregation has roots in both the village and hills plus support from long established folks, from weekenders and from new retirees who choose to spend quality time here.

The St. John’s Gals, as our Women’s Group is known, is a driving force within our church. Their work includes open-to-the-community Fowl, Lamb and Beef suppers. Funds for church work and capital improvements are raised by The Gals doing meal catering to different local organizations and by providing refreshments for family and friends after loss of a loved one. All women are invited to the second Tuesday of the month evening meetings where there is support, fellowship, laughter and sometimes a special guest speaker.

Our Congregation is blessed with a compact but vibrant choir that brings a wide variety of music to our regular Sunday morning services. The Choir normally performs one special piece each week. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to join us for practice and performance, no one will be turned away who wants to learn to sing.

We worship weekly, at 11 a.m., in our pretty heritage red brick church that occupies a pivotal location on Creemore’s tree lined Mill Street. Our services, including Communion, are open to all.

Join us if you are seeking to gain strength from a relationship with God and to learn more of the teaching and insights of Jesus Christ. We are a Christ-based ministry. Regular worship is what keeps us inspired, and with God’s help, ready, and willing Christians.

We welcome our new minister, Rev. Jane Sullivan, who assumes her responsibilities as minister for the Creemore Pastoral Charge as of March 1, 2019.

We extend a warm welcome to you. Please join us whenever you are able.
